Our Story

Cheyenne Trytten

My name is Cheyenne, I live on a grain farm Southwest of Kyle & couldn't be more proud of my rural roots. I've been practicing yoga on & off for years. Recently I noticed a need for movement in my small town. This is when I decided to become a yoga teacher in 2018, studying under Meagan Fettes in Okotoks, AB, with my friend and business partner Lindsey McIntosh. In my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training I discovered that yoga is so much more than stretching and breathing! In those short 200 hours yoga transformed from a hobby, to a way of life for me. When I'm not practising or teaching yoga I love barrel racing, hunting, fishing & being with those I love. I've found that being a nurse as my main career path has helped me dramatically in my journey as a yoga teacher, from my knowledge of anatomy to my compassion and deep need to help others.

My goal as a yoga teacher is to bring mindfulness, self love & confidence to all of my students regardless of the level they're at. I strongly believe yoga is for everyone! Every age, gender, body type & size. If you can breathe, you can practise & benefit from yoga! I try my very best to create a fun, safe & open atmosphere for all my classes. I'm so proud to make yoga accessible in our rural area of Saskatchewan & cannot wait to spread the healing benefits to everyone who decides to take a leap of faith and attend a class!

I feel so deeply thankful for my community and all the support Rural Connection Yoga has received so far.

I live my life by "creating through love & staying rooted in faith."

Lindsey McIntosh

I'm Lindsey, yoga instructor and co-owner of Rural Connection Yoga. Originally born and raised in Okotoks, AB. In 2016, I made the move to Kyle, SK, where I now live and help on a grain farm. I attended Medicine Hat College for Occupational/Physical Therapy Assistant. I also have my level one Reiki Healing and I am a Registered Certified Reflexology Therapist, which I offer to Kyle and surrounding area. As a healer I continue to feel the desire to bring more to the small community of Kyle, cue yoga!

I have been doing yoga on and off for about 10 years. In 2018, I decided to take the leap and become a certified yoga instructor. I took my initial 200hr yoga teacher training under Meagan Fettes in Okotoks, AB. I never would have expected a training to transform my life so much. Yoga went from being a fun workout to a strong passion of mine. In 200 short hours, I learned that yoga is not just about the physical practice but also focuses on the mental, emotional and spiritual self. Prior, yoga was never a huge part of my life, now it has become almost a daily practice. Since my 200hr training, I have also completed a 95hr children's teaching training, as well as, 25hr Yin yoga training. As I continue down my yoga journey, I hope to have many more opportunities to learn and grow as a teacher and person.

I am passionate about empowering others around me to move through yoga, no matter what age, gender, and body type. I strongly believe that yoga is for EVERYONE. My hope is to provide a supportive and safe environment, where each and every person has the opportunity to listen to their body and feel the benefits of yoga.

I am deeply grateful for all the love and support that have been given to myself and Rural Connection Yoga. I look forward to many years of teaching and learning from my students.

Namaste,

Lindsey McIntosh
